Basketball Season A Success
The varsity girls team ended regular season ranked 6th. So, the team was off to Augusta to play in the quarterfinals against Vinalhaven. The team took a loss in Augusta. Jonathan Willink (1990) and April St. Cyr (1992) were the alumni spotted in Augusta. The varsity boys team ended regular season ranked 9th. The team played a prelim game against Buckfield. The team did not come out with a win. GPCS appreciates students participating and representing the school in the arena of sports!

Alumni Survey
Survey Results
Many of you responded to the survey sent out at the end of last year. Several of you are interested in hearing about past teachers. I have several updates to share. I have room to share one for now.

Mr. Charles S. Mincks
Stan is living in Colorado Springs, CO. While at GPCS, he taught Bible, Physics, Chemistry and high school Math. His wife; Ruth Anne, passed away March 2006. His children are: Esther (1985), Elizabeth (1986), Rebecca (1988), and Rachel (1992). Stan remarried in 2007 while in Prague to Doris Waldrop. Mr. Mincks is presently on the board of ACCTS (Association for Christian Conferences, Training and Service) an international ministry to military Christians. A memorable moment that he recalls is: "I offered extra credit on the final exam for Bible verses written from memory. At the bottom of the test paper from a tough but very likeable young woman were these words: "Dear Mr. Mincks - I ain't got no Bible verses; but it's been cool. Love, Nicky." Mr. Mincks loved the many amazing Gilbert & Sullivan productions at GPCS. Stan writes; "Some teachers are among God's choicest gifts to the rest of us Christians and our children. I thank and praise the Lord for their vital contributions to the lives of our children, their children, and the generations to come." Look for more updates on past faculty in the next publication.
